Five of us met at the lifeboat station slipway at Littlehampton at 10 am. Weather just above freezing and the feel of snow in the air. Just what you want when you are undertaking your first sea paddle. Well, at least I wont overheat ;D Four of us, Mick (trip leader), Gordon, Roy and myself were paddling sea kayaks, whilst Bruno was in his new Wave Sport touring boat. After the shuttle run to get the cars to Sea Lane Cafe, we re-joined Roy who was waiting bravely in the cold for us to return. Kitted up and a chat to passers by who thought we were mad, we were away by 11 am. Well the actual paddle to Sea Lane was thankfully uneventful, and with a following tide we made it to the finish point at close to 1 pm. After a two hour paddle in low temperatures my arms, shoulders and most other body parts certainly new I had paddled the six miles Many thanks to Mick for arranging the trip and I am looking forward to the next sea trip (hopefully in warmer weather).
